Decimal vs. Binary - Which Applies?
1 MB can mean either 1,000,000 bytes (decimal, SI convention - used by storage manufacturers and most modern OS file managers) or 1,048,576 bytes (binary, technically 1 MiB) - this tool lets you choose explicitly rather than guessing, since the two conventions genuinely differ by about 5% at the MB scale and more at larger scales.
