What Is the Text Similarity Checker?
It measures how similar two texts are and shows the result as four percentages: word overlap (cosine similarity), shared vocabulary (Jaccard index), shared three-word phrases and character-level similarity (Levenshtein distance). Together they tell you whether two texts simply share a topic or share actual wording.

Example
Comparing Byteary offers free online tools that run in your browser, so your text is never uploaded. with Byteary has free browser-based tools, and your text is never uploaded to a server. gives 57% word overlap, 38% shared vocabulary, 13% shared three-word phrases and 43% character similarity. The two sentences say much the same thing in different words, which is exactly what a low phrase score and a medium word score show.
Reading the Four Scores
Cosine similarity compares how often each word is used, so it is high when texts are about the same topic. The Jaccard index counts the unique words both texts use. The three-word phrase score only rises when identical runs of words appear in both, so it is the best sign of copied wording. Levenshtein similarity counts the single-character edits needed to turn one text into the other.
Limitations
This compares the two texts with each other only; it does not search the internet, so it is not a plagiarism checker. It matches words, not meaning, so a careful paraphrase scores low. The character score is skipped for texts over 5,000 characters. To see the exact changes between two versions, use Text Compare.
