Get the Exact Colour From Any Image

Matching a brand colour from a logo, picking a shade from a photo for a design, or checking a colour in a screenshot - this tool shows the colour under your pointer and copies its HEX, RGB or HSL code with one click. It also lists the main colours of the image as a ready-made palette.

How to Use It

  1. Choose an image or a screenshot.
  2. Move over it: the swatch, the codes and the magnified view follow your pointer.
  3. Click to pick a colour. It is added to your picked colours.
  4. Click the clipboard icon next to a code, or any palette swatch, to copy it.

HEX, RGB and HSL

They describe the same colour in different ways. HEX (such as #2563EB) is the usual choice for CSS and design tools. RGB gives the red, green and blue amounts from 0 to 255. HSL (hue, saturation, lightness) makes it easy to create lighter or darker versions of the same colour. Use the palette in the CSS Gradient Generator or the CSS Color Palette Generator.

Limitations

JPG photos blend neighbouring pixels, so one pixel can differ slightly from the colour you see; the palette, which averages the main areas, is often more useful for photos. Large images are shown at a reduced size, so very fine details can be averaged. Colours depend on the image's own colour profile and your screen.
