Crop Any Picture in Seconds
Cropping removes what you do not need - a messy background, a second person, the edge of a screenshot - and can change the shape of a photo to fit a profile picture, a post or a banner. This tool crops in your browser with a box you drag into place.
How to Use It
- Choose an image.
- Pick an aspect ratio, or leave it on Free.
- Drag inside the box to move it, drag a corner to resize it, or drag outside it to draw a new box.
- Click Crop & Download.
Which Ratio for Which Use?
| Ratio | Common use |
|---|---|
| 1:1 | Profile pictures, WhatsApp DP, product photos |
| 4:5 | Instagram portrait posts |
| 9:16 | Stories, Reels and Shorts |
| 16:9 | YouTube thumbnails, slides, banners |
| 4:3 and 3:2 | Standard camera and print shapes |
Choose Circle to see how a picture looks as a round avatar; it is saved as a PNG with transparent corners.
Limitations
Cropping keeps the original pixels, so a small crop of a large photo has fewer pixels than the whole picture - resize it afterwards with the Image Resizer if a site needs a minimum size. Circle crops are always PNG files, which can be larger than JPGs. To trim the margins of PDF pages, use Crop PDF.
