Rotate & Flip Image

Rotate photos by 90 or 180 degrees, flip them horizontally or vertically, or straighten a tilted picture by a few degrees.

Choose an image, rotate, flip or straighten it, then download the result.

Drag & drop an image here, or click to choose

Rotated in your browser - nothing is uploaded.

Selfies are often mirrored - flip them horizontally so text in the picture reads the right way.

Fix Sideways, Upside-Down and Mirrored Photos

Photos sometimes open sideways on a computer, scans come out upside down, and front-camera selfies are mirrored so text reads backwards. This tool rotates, flips and straightens pictures in your browser and saves the fixed copy.

How to Use It

  1. Choose an image.
  2. Use Left 90°, Right 90° or 180° to turn it, and the flip buttons to mirror it.
  3. For a slightly tilted horizon or document, move Straighten a few degrees.
  4. Click Download Image.

Straightening and the Corners

Turning a picture by a few degrees leaves empty triangles at the corners. Crop to fill trims the picture slightly so there are none; White fills them, which suits documents; Transparent keeps them see-through in a PNG.

Limitations

Every save re-encodes a JPG, which costs a little quality; turning a JPG by 90° here is not the same as a lossless rotation. Straightening with Crop to fill loses a little of the edges. To rotate PDF pages, use Rotate PDF; to cut the picture to a new shape, use Crop Image.

Frequently Asked Questions

Click "Flip horizontal" and download. Text in the photo will then read the right way round.

Move the Straighten slider a few degrees until the horizon or the document edge is level. "Crop to fill" trims the corners so no empty space shows.

Phones often store the rotation as a setting instead of turning the pixels. This tool applies the rotation to the picture itself, so it shows the right way everywhere.
