Watermark PDF

Add a text watermark such as CONFIDENTIAL or DRAFT to every page of a PDF, with size, colour, opacity, angle and position options.

Choose a PDF, type the watermark text and style it, then download the marked file.

Drag & drop a PDF here, or click to choose

The watermark is added in your browser - the file is never uploaded.

Latin letters, digits and common symbols.

A watermark is drawn on top of the page and can be removed with editing software; it deters copying but does not lock the file.

Mark a PDF as Confidential, Draft or a Copy

A watermark tells readers what a document is and discourages it from being passed on as an original. This tool adds a text watermark such as CONFIDENTIAL, DRAFT or COPY - FOR KYC ONLY to the pages you choose.

How to Use It

  1. Choose a PDF.
  2. Type the watermark text.
  3. Pick a layout (diagonal, straight or repeated across the page), colour, opacity and text size.
  4. Optionally limit it to certain pages, then click Add Watermark.

Protect Copies of ID Documents

When you share a copy of your Aadhaar, PAN or passport, writing the purpose and date across it - for example "For bank account opening only, 4 Oct 2026" - makes it harder to misuse elsewhere. The repeated layout covers the whole page so it cannot simply be cropped off.

Limitations

The watermark is drawn as text on top of the page; someone with a PDF editor can remove it, so it deters rather than prevents copying. The built-in PDF fonts support Latin letters, digits and common symbols, not Hindi or other scripts. To lock filled-in form fields as well, use Flatten PDF Forms.

Frequently Asked Questions

Someone with a full PDF editor can remove a text watermark, so it discourages copying rather than preventing it. The repeated layout is the hardest to crop out.
